I haven’t eaten here in 8 years, but it used to be a Sunday ritual for our family. I still think about that salmon bagel sandwich!

Best place for breakfast or lunch! It’s a must visit every time I come from North Carolina to see my friends and family. Everyone inside is friendly and you might even strike up a conversation with a random stranger and find yourself eating breakfast with them! The Early Bird is quick and very affordable. Next time you’re looking for a day off cooking or just wanting to try a new place the Early Bird is the place to go. It’s really not just some place to get breakfast it’s a whole community.

Had a great breakfast here! Two of us got the farmhouse special off the menu and the third person got the pumpkin French toast special. We also got chai tea lattes and a maple lemonade. We cleaned our plates, the food is so fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Staff were friendly and the prices are very reasonable. This is a little counter service cafe and everything seems to be made to order, so if you’re in a huge rush you may want to go elsewhere. But on a Sunday morning we enjoyed looking at all the art on the walls, flipping through some of the books on the tables, and there’s also board and card games. We’ll definitely be back!

If you have the chance, this lovely place is definitely worth checking out. It's a small nook, supporting local businesses. I needed a special order and they had no problem accommodating, they actually had some great ideas for me. The two women working were beyond wonderful. Add the food was a huge hit. I recommend the crepes and home fries. The coffee is also locally sourced Carpe Diem, can't go wrong with them. Eat in or take out. Worth every bite/sip.

Stopped in for breakfast when I happened to be passing through. Nice little neighborhood place, art on the walls, super friendly and efficient service. No expresso drinks but the brewed coffee is very good. My breakfast sandwich --called the "Screaming Eagle" on the menu -- was amazingly good, honestly, among the best I've ever had anywhere. Maybe THE best... Very highly recommended

I'm from Texas. I miss breakfast tacos. The Early Bird is the closest to a breakfast taco i can get around here. The food is made fresh and it's the closest to a homemade, mom made meal i can get. They're great and very warm. Love to go there.

Small ,family owned friendly cafe that is a treasure in South Berwick. The food is great as is the owner and staff. They understand what a local cafe should be and execute it wonderfully. Expect to wait for the cooked to order food but it's worth the wait...
